Pinpoint Test Z: DTC U1900-Can Communication Bus Fault-Receive Error

NOTE: Check all pins of the sensor cluster and ABS module when removing connectors. Care should be taken when reinstalling these connectors.
  1. Z1 CHECK THE CAN CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND

    1. Turn ignition off.
    2. Disconnect ABS module C155 connector.
    3. Disconnect 4WD control module C218b connector.
    4. Measure the resistance between the ABS module and the 4WD control module harness side; and between the ABS module, harness side and ground as follows:
BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL SENSOR CONNECTOR-PIN REFERENCE

ABD Module Connector 4WD Control Module Connector Circuit Number and Color
    C155-11 C281b-9 3126 (TN/YE)
    C155-15 C281b-1 3125 (RD/YE)
    • Are the resistances less than 5 ohms between the ABS module and the 4WD control module, and greater than 10,000 ohms between the ABS module and ground?
    1. Yes  : GO to Z2.
    2. No  : REPAIR the circuit. REPEAT the self-test.
  2. Z2 CHECK FOR 4WD CONTROL MODULE OPERATION
    1. Disconnect all the 4WD control module connectors.
    2. Check for:
      • corrosion
      • pushed-out pins
    3. Connect all the 4WD control module connectors and make sure they seat correctly.
    4. Operate the system and verify the concern is still present.
    • Is the concern still present?
    1. Yes  : INSTALL a new 4WD control module. TEST the system for normal operation.
    2. No  : The system is operating correctly at this time. Concern may have been caused by a loose or corroded connector. CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test.
