Cable/Bracket Adjustment - Shift Indicator Cable

  1. Remove upper instrument panel steering column cover.
  2. Place gearshift lever in D position. Rotate gearshift lever clockwise until it bottoms out (first gear), then rotate 2 detents counterclockwise (D position).
  3. Hang the 1.4 kg (3 lb.) weight on gearshift lever.
  4. Center pointer in middle of D position. Rotate thumbwheel located on bottom of steering column to adjust pointer.

  5. Remove 1.4 kg (3 lb.) weight.
  6. Carefully move gearshift lever from detent and compare with transmission settings. Readjust if necessary.
  7. Install upper instrument panel steering column cover.
