Engine and Radiator Flushing: Material

MATERIAL

Motorcraft Premium Cooling System Flush VC-1 ESR-M14P7-A
Motorcraft Premium Engine Coolant VC-4-A (in Oregon, VC-5, in Canada, CXC-10) ESE-M97B44-A
Motorcraft Premium Gold Engine Coolant VC-7-A WSS-M97B51-A1
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING  .
  2. Remove the water thermostat (8575). Refer to THERMOSTAT  .
  3. Install the water hose connection (8592) without the water thermostat.
  4. NOTE: Refer to the manufacturer's operating instructions for specific vehicle hook-up.
  5. Using an appropriate cooling system flusher, flush the engine and radiator.

    Use cooling system flush for vehicles filled with premium engine coolant (green color) or premium gold engine coolant (yellow color).

  6. Install the water thermostat. Refer to THERMOSTAT  .
  7. Backflush the heater core (18476) if necessary. Refer to HEATER CORE BACKFLUSHING  .
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to COOLING SYSTEM DRAINING, FILLING AND BLEEDING  .
