Test E: Alarm System Does Not Disarm

  1. Press LOCK and UNLOCK button on Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. If LOCK/UNLOCK function operates correctly, go to next step. If LOCK/UNLOCK function does not operate correctly, repair remote keyless entry system as necessary. See appropriate REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS article.
  2. Open left front window. Arm anti-theft system. Reach inside window and manually unlock door. Open left front door to trigger anti-theft system. Press UNLOCK button on RKE transmitter to disarm system. If anti-theft system disarms and vehicle is not equipped with door lock/disarm switches, system is okay. If anti-theft system disarms and vehicle is equipped with door lock/disarm switches, go to next step. If anti-theft system does not disarm, disconnect negative battery cable to disable alarm and replace anti-theft/central locking control module. Retest system operation.
  3. Arm anti-theft system. Reach inside window and manually unlock door. Open left front door to trigger anti-theft system. Insert door key into left front door and turn to UNLOCK position. If anti-theft system disarms, go to step  7 . If anti-theft system does not disarm, disconnect negative battery cable to disable alarm. Reconnect negative battery cable, then go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect both anti-theft/central locking control module harness connectors. Ensure door key is in UNLOCK position. Measure resistance between anti-theft/central locking module connector C451A terminal No. 13 (Yellow/Red wire) and anti-theft/central locking module connector C451B terminal No. 8 (Orange/Blue wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace anti-theft/central locking module. Retest system operation. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect left door lock arm/disarm switch harness connector C708. Test switch. See DOOR LOCK ARM/DISARM SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch is okay, go to next step. If switch is defective, replace left door lock arm/disarm switch.
  6. Ensure ignition is off. Measure resistance between anti-theft/central locking module connector C451B terminal No. 8 (Orange/Blue wire) and left front door lock arm/disarm switch connector C708 terminal No. 3 (Orange/White wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair open White/Red or White/Violet wire. Retest system operation. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Orange/White or Orange/Blue wire. Retest system operation.
  7. Open right front door window. Arm anti-theft system. Reach inside window and manually unlock door. Open right front door to trigger anti-theft system. Insert door key into right front door and turn to UNLOCK position. If anti-theft system disarms, system is okay. If anti-theft system does not disarm, disconnect negative battery cable to deactivate alarm. Reconnect negative battery cable, then go to next step.
  8. Turn ignition off. Disconnect anti-theft/central locking control module harness connector C451A. Ensure door key is in UNLOCK position. Measure resistance between anti-theft/central locking module connector C451A terminal No. 13 (Yellow/Red wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace anti-theft/central locking module. Retest system operation. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  9. Disconnect right front door lock arm/disarm switch harness connector C1895. Test switch. See DOOR LOCK ARM/DISARM SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If switch is okay, go to next step. If switch is defective, replace right front door lock arm/disarm switch.
  10. Measure resistance between right front door lock arm/disarm switch connector C1895 terminal No. 1 (Orange/White wire) and ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair White/Violet or Orange/White wire. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair Orange/White wire. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
