Symptom Checks

Check the following items:

• Check brakelight circuits for open and short circuits. See appropriate wiring diagram in EXTERIOR LIGHTS article in the ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT section.
• If vehicle has a PCM controlled electronic transmission, perform QUICK TEST. See appropriate article:

If any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are present, perform appropriate CIRCUIT TEST.
