Electronic Brake Control Module: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove inner fender splash shield.
3. Remove pump motor relay.
4. Disconnect 55-pin connector.
5. Remove three screws attaching ABS control module to mounting bracket.

INSTALLATION
1. Align ABS control module with bracket so connector faces the rear of vehicle and locking lever faces up and the side with two mounting holes is flat against bracket at top.

NOTE: If all three mounting holes in ABS control module do not line up with holes in mounting bracket, ABS control module is incorrectly aligned with bracket.

2. Install three retaining screws and tighten to 7-9 Nm (62-79 inch lbs.).
3. Connect 55-pin connector by installing bottom part of connector into slots in ABS control module and pushing top portion of connector into ABS control module. Then, pull locking lever completely down for proper installation.
4. Install pump motor relay. Tighten to 7-9 Nm (62-79 inch lbs.).
5. Install inner fender splash shield.
6. Install tire and wheel assembly.
7. Retest brake system.
