DTC B1554 - DECKLID Release Circuit Short To Ground

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Using NGS tester, access driver's door module PID DLIDRLS. If PID DLIDRLS does not read ON, go to next step. If PID DLIDRLS reads ON, go to step 3).
  2. Using NGS tester, perform driver's door module SELF-TEST. If DTC B1554 is retrieved, replace driver's door module, then retest system. If DTC B1554 is not retrieved, access driver's door module active command PIDLATCH while flexing wiring harness between trunk lid release switch and driver's door module. Repair short to voltage in area where PID DLIDRLS activates.
  3. Disconnect trunk lid release switch connector. Using NGS tester, access driver's door module PID DLIDRLS. If PID DLIDRLS reads ON, go to next step. If PID DLIDRLS does not read ON, replace trunk lid release switch, then retest system.
  4. Disconnect driver's door module 16-pin connector C455. Measure resistance between ground and driver's door module 16-pin connector C455 terminal No. 7 (Yellow/Black wire). If resistance Is less than 10 k/ohms, repair short to ground in Yellow/Black wire, then retest system. If resistance is greater than 10 k/ohms, replace driver's door module, then retest system.
