Ignition Timing: Adjustments

INITIAL TIMING

Caution: Do not use a remote starter while doing timing check.

1. Key off.
2. Install timing light.
3. Remove Spark Output (SPOUT) in line connector.
4. Run engine at normal operating temperature.

5. With engine at idle, or timing rpm if specified, adjust base timing to 10° BTDC. Refer to to Distributor Service and Repair. Service and Repair

6. Reconnect SPOUT in line connector.
7. Run engine at normal operating condition.
