Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
^ Raise vehicle.
^ Remove front catalytic converter flange fasteners, loosen rear U-bolt connection and disconnect Secondary Air Injection (AIR) hoses.
^ Separate catalytic converter inlet and outlet connections. Remove flex joint gasket and discard.
^ Remove converter.

INSTALLATION
^ Install converter to muffler.
^ Install a new flex joint gasket. Install converter and muffler assembly to inlet pipe/flex joint, connect Secondary Air Injection (AIR) hoses, and position U-bolt.
^ Align exhaust system. Starting at front of system, tighten all nuts and bolts to specification.
^ Check system for leaks and lower vehicle.
