Throttle Full Close Switch: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Idle (IDL) switch detects when the throttle position is fully closed.

OPERATION
When the throttle plate is closed, an idle condition occurs. The IDL switch detects this position and notifies the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with an input signal, so adjustments to the engine can be made including air/fuel ratio and idle speed.
