23-7 Check Basic Engine

^ Check the following:
- Engine compression
- Valve guides/stems/seals
- Oil drain passages in head
- Piston rings (seized, worn)
- Pistons (worn)
- Cylinder bores (scuffed)

^ Is the basic engine OK?

YES -- Return to the Diagnostic Routine Index and check for other concerns.

NO -- Service as necessary.
