Wiper Motor Current Draw Test

  1. Disconnect wiper arm linkage from wiper motor. Unplug wiring harness connector "A" from wiper motor. Connect ammeter between positive battery terminal and Yellow/Red wire terminal on wiper motor. See Fig 1 .
  2. Connect jumper wire from ground to Dark Blue/Orange wire terminal on wiper motor. Measure low speed current draw. Disconnect jumper wire from Dark Blue/Orange wire terminal. Connect jumper wire from ground to White wire terminal on wiper motor. Measure high speed current draw. In both low and high speed tests, current draw should not exceed 3.5 amps.
