Cruise Control Switch: Service and Repair

1. Disarm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Remove four nut and washer assemblies retaining airbag module to steering wheel.
3. Remove airbag module from steering wheel. Place airbag module on bench with trim cover facing upward.
4. On Town Car models, remove horn buttons by gently prying upward with small screwdriver, then disconnect wiring harness connector.
5. On Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis models, pry off speed control switch bezels, then remove bezels from steering wheel.
6. On all models, remove Phillips head screw from speed control switch assemblies, then disconnect speed control switches from wiring harness and remove switches.
7. On Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis models, Remove wire organizer from steering wheel.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
9. Reactivate airbag as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
