Test Km: Step 35

35) Check A/C Demand (ACD) Circuit For Short to Power  With key off, disconnect WAC relay or A/C fan controller. Disconnect ECA 60-pin connector. Inspect for corroded or damaged connector pins and repair as necessary. Install breakout box, leaving ECA disconnected. With the A/C demand switch in OFF position, set DVOM on 20-volt scale. With KOEO, measure voltage between test pin No. 24 (No. 43 on 2.3L Turbo PFI) at breakout box and chassis ground. If voltage is less than one volt, EEC-IV system is okay. Remove breakout box, reconnect all components and diagnose A/C system. If voltage is greater than one volt, check operation of A/C demand switch, if okay, repair short circuit. Remove breakout box, reconnect all components. Retest system.
