Programmable Seat

The Continental models offer a programmable seat memory which provides the storing and recalling of 3 driver's seat positions. The switch includes 3 buttons marked "SET", "1" and "2". A third position is activated by pressing buttons "1" and "2" at the same time. Pressing the "SET" button lights the LED in the button and start a second timer to show operator that the memory is not open for a seat position input.

If "1" or "2" or both buttons are not pressed within 5 seconds, the light will go out and the memory will be closed for further operator input. The originally stored seat position will be retained. System is operational only when transmission is in "PARK" or "NEUTRAL" position with engine either running or off.

The programmable seat functions are controlled by an electronic module located under the driver's seat. The module is capable of some self-diagnostics. A self-test button and Light Emitting Diode (LED) are located on the top of the module. See Figure . The seat controls are wired through the module. If the module is not functioning, the memory or manual controls will not work. There are sensors on the seat track which determine movement. If the sensors are not connected, the seat memory or manual controls will not operate.
