Installation (3.0L Engine)

  1. Ensure intake manifold, cylinder head, and engine block mating surfaces are clean. Apply Silicone Sealer (D6AZ-19562-A) to intersection of engine block and head assembly at each of the 4 corners.
  2. Install intake manifold end seals and secure in place. Position intake manifold side gaskets in place and insert locking tabs over tabs on cylinder head gaskets.
  3. Apply Silicone Sealer (D6AZ-19562-A) over gasket in same places as in step 1. Carefully lower intake manifold into position to prevent smearing silicone sealer. Tighten intake manifold bolts in sequence. See Fig 1 .
  4. Install thermostat housing and new gasket. Connect PCV line at PCV valve and exhaust manifold. Connect electrical leads and vacuum hoses. Apply silicone sealer to split between head and intake manifold (4 places).
  5. Install rocker arm covers. Connect heater tube hose to heater elbow. Connect coolant by-pass hose. Connect radiator upper hose. Connect fuel lines at fuel charging assembly.
  6. Install air cleaner outlet tube. Fill and bleed cooling system. Connect negative battery cable. Start engine and check for leaks. Check and adjust engine idle speed, transmission throttle linkage (overdrive transmission only) and cruise control.
