Canister Purge Check

Tee in a vacuum gauge between canister purge solenoid and canister. Turn engine off and restart. Increase speed to 2500 RPM to initiate "Functional Test". Observe vacuum gauge during initialization pulses. If vacuum pulses 0-1 in. Hg 3 times, system is ok. If vacuum is steadily high or low, perform Test 12 ("Canister Purge Solenoid").
