Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit
The Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) is installed within the speedometer. The VSS sends pulse signals that are proportional to the rotation speed (i.e., the vehicle speed) of the transaxle's output gear to the control unit. This vehicle speed sensor is the reed switch type of sensor; it generates four pulse signals for each rotation of the speedometer's driven gear. See Fig 1 .
