Module, Powertrain Control: Installation: 1.4L

  1. Install the PCM (2) to the bracket with four nuts (1) and ground strap (4). Tighten nuts (1) to 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.).
  2. Engage the engine wire harness to the PCM bracket retainers (3).

  3. Connect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connectors (1 and 2).
  4. Install the engine cover.
  5. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
  6. If installing a new PCM, use a diagnostic scan tool to reprogram the new PCM with the vehicles original VIN and mileage.
