July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Power Seat System

  1. Operate power seat switch to move all 3 motors in each direction. If seat fails to move in more than one direction, go to next step. If seat fails to move in one direction only, move seat momentarily in opposite direction and test again. If seat still fails to move in one direction only, test power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS.
  2. Check Power Distribution Center (PDC) fuse No. 14 (50-amp). If fuse is okay, go to next step. If fuse is not okay, replace fuse and recheck system operation.
  3. Remove inoperative power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Measure voltage at power seat switch harness connector terminal "A". If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, repair open in Fused B+ circuit between power seat switch connector terminal "A" and fuse No. 14 in PDC.
  4. Check for continuity between ground and power seat switch connector terminal "B". If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open ground circuit.
  5. Test power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCH  under COMPONENT TESTS. If power seat switch is not okay, replace power seat switch. If power seat switch tests okay, check for open or short circuit in harness between power seat switch and inoperative power seat motor. Repair circuits as necessary. If circuits test okay, replace power seat adjuster and motor assembly. See POWER SEAT ADJUSTERS & MOTORS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
