Removal & Installation

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 Dodge Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Intrepid, 2003 Chrysler Concorde, 2003 Chrysler 300M, and 2002 Dodge Intrepid. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait 2 minutes. Remove knee bolster. Remove tilt lever screw and remove tilt lever. Remove steering column shrouds. Disconnect steering column harness from Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM).
  2. Remove one screw holding SKIM to bottom of steering column. Slide SKIM away from steering column to clear antenna ring from ignition key cylinder. See Figure . Remove SKIM.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Turn ignition switch to ON position, then reconnect battery. If new SKIM is being installed, ensure new SKIM is initialized. See SENTRY KEY IMMOBILIZER MODULE INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE  under PROGRAMMING.
