Balance Shaft Module: Removal

  1. Disconnect the remote battery terminal (1).

  2. Remove the engine from the vehicle. See REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the flex plate.

  4. Remove the front cover. See REMOVAL .

  5. Remove the timing chain tensioner.

  6. Remove the balance weight from the rear of the balance shaft.

  7. Push the timing chain downward and off the balance shaft sprocket.
  8. Remove the balance shaft.
