Timing Control

Timing is controlled by Engine Control Module (M/T) or Powertrain Control Module (A/T) and cannot be adjusted. To check timing, using scan tool, perform actuator test No. 17: BASIC IGNITION TIMING. See ACTUATOR TESTS  . If timing is not within specification, check that Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor and timing cover are positioned properly. Repair or replace as necessary.
