Battery & Charging Systems: Generator: Removal

Disconnect battery negative cable. (Fig 1 ).

Loosen the jam nut and adjustment bolt.
Raise vehicle and support.
Remove accessary drive splash shield. (Fig 2 ).

Loosen the lower mounting bolt.
Remove the generator drive belt.
Disconnect the generator field circuit wiring connector. Push the RED locking tab to release.
Remove the B+ terminal nut and wire.
Remove the upper and lower mounting bolt and move generator off of pivot bracket. (Fig 3 ).

Remove pivot bracket.
Remove Generator through wheel well. (Fig 4 ).
