July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Door Lock Switch Failure

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC) located under left side of instrument panel. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, record and erase DTCs. Operate both door lock switches from lock to unlock several times. Using scan tool, check for DTCs. If DTC does not reset, no problem is indicated at this time. Perform wiggle test on all related connectors and wiring harnesses. Repair wiring as necessary and retest system. If DTC resets, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove driver's door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect driver's door lock switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY COMPUTER and then SENSORS and observe DR LOCK SW voltage. If no voltage is present, replace driver's door lock switch. If any voltage is present, go to next step.
  3. Turn ignition off. Remove passenger's door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect passenger's door lock switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY COMPUTER and then SENSORS and observe DOOR LOCK SW voltage. If no voltage is present, replace passenger's door lock switch. If any voltage is present, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM C4 26-pin connector. BCM is connected to junction block under left side of instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and White/Dark Green wire at driver's door lock switch harness connector. If no voltage is present, go to next step. If any voltage is present, repair short to ground in White/Dark Green wire.
  5. Measure voltage between ground and White/Light Green wire at passenger's door lock switch harness connector. If no voltage is present, circuit is okay. Replace BCM. If any voltage is present, repair short to ground in White/Light Green wire.
