Air Bag Restraint Systems: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Dodge Intrepid, 2000 Chrysler LHS, 2000 Chrysler Intrepid, 2000 Chrysler Concorde, and 2000 Chrysler 300M. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

During a front-end collision severe enough to require air bag protection, impact sensor switch located within ORC/ACM closes and a deployment signal is sent to each air bag module inflator. Inflators use electrical current from ORC/ACM capacitor to produce and release gas, which inflates air bags.
