Test NTC-5: Checking Engine Vacuum

Start engine. Connect a vacuum gauge to a manifold vacuum source. Let engine idle. Vacuum reading may vary according to altitude. Observe vacuum gauge. If vacuum gauge reading is 13-22 in.
