July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Test SC-1D - Checking Speed Control Operation

NOTE: Perform TEST SC-1A  before proceeding.
  1. Turn ignition off. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance on speed control power supply circuit between speed control servo connector and ground. See SPEED CONTROL SERVO CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION  in TEST SC-1B. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, repair short to ground in speed control power supply circuit.
  2. Disconnect brake switch connector. Brake switch connector is located near top of brake pedal. Inspect brake switch connector for damaged or pushed out terminals. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST SC-VER . If wiring and connectors are okay, go to next step.
  3. Ensure scan tool is still actuating speed control vent solenoid. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage of speed control power supply circuit at brake switch connector. See BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step. If voltage is 10 volts or less, go to step 5).
    BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION

    Application Wire Color
    Brake Switch Sense Circuit White/Pink
    Brake Switch Ground Circuit Black
Speed Control Power Supply Circuit Yellow/Red
Switched Speed Control Power Supply Circuit Dark Blue/Red
Brake Light Switch Output Circuit White/Tan
    Fused B+ Circuit Pink/Dark Blue
  4. Inspect brake switch adjustment. Adjust brake switch as necessary. Perform TEST SC-VER . If brake switch adjustment is okay, replace brake switch. Perform TEST SC-VER .
  5. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of speed control power supply circuit between brake switch connector and PCM connector terminal No. 5. See BRAKE SWITCH CONNECTOR WIRE IDENTIFICATION  for wire color identification. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST SC-VER . If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open speed control power supply circuit between brake switch connector and PCM. Perform TEST SC-VER .
