Test 22A - Open Right Door Ajar Circuit

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  1. Disconnect right front door ajar switch connector. Check condition of connector and door ajar switch connector ground strap. Clean or repair connector and ground strap as necessary. Go to next step.
  2. Connect jumper wire between right door ajar switch connector (Tan/Red wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays RF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace right door ajar switch. If scan tool does not display RF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM), located behind right kick panel. Connect jumper wire between BCM Natural connector terminal No. 1 (Tan/Red wire) and chassis ground. If scan tool displays RF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, repair open in Tan/Red wire between BCM connector and right door ajar switch connector. If scan tool does not display RF DOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace BCM.
