Test 110A - Traveler Displays F1-1

CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS - 3.0L article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
  1. Turn ignition on. If traveler does not display F1-1, system is operating properly. If traveler displays F1-1, turn ignition off. Gain access to traveler module. Traveler module is located in center section of dash. Disconnect traveler module 7-pin connector and Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Check connector condition and clean or repair connectors as necessary. Go to next step.
  2. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance of Violet/Brown wire between BCM Black connector terminal No. 7 and traveler module connector terminal No. 2. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Violet/Brown wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Check resistance of White/Black wire between BCM Black connector terminal No. 20 and traveler module connector terminal No. 1. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in White/Black wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace BCM.
