Idle Speed Control (ISC) Motor

ISC motor adjusts idle speed to compensate for engine load and ambient temperature. ISC motor varies amount of air by-pass through throttle body.

PCM uses coolant temperature, VSS, TPS and various switch input operations to adjust ISC to obtain optimum idle conditions. To prevent deceleration stall, airflow is increased when throttle is suddenly closed.
