Checking Fluid Level: Transaxle

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 12 other vehicles, including the 1994 Plymouth Sundance, 1994 Plymouth Laser, 1994 Plymouth Acclaim, 1994 Eagle Vision, and 1994 Eagle Talon. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. With vehicle on level ground, apply parking brake and run engine at curb idle for at least one minute. Move gear selector through all positions, ending in Park.
  2. Fluid level should be in crosshatch area of dipstick marked WARM or HOT, depending on fluid temperature. Check condition of fluid for contamination and burned smell. DO NOT  overfill. Fully seat dipstick.
