Removal Procedure
The noise cancelling foam component MUST be replaced if it has been exposed to engine fluids. Failure to replace the noise cancelling foam component that has been exposed to engine fluids may result in an engine fire resulting in catastrophic engine damage, and possible injury or death.
Fuel/gasoline vapors are highly flammable. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present. Never drain or store gasoline or diesel fuel in an open container, due to the possibility of fire or explosion. Have a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby.
Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.

High pressure fuel feed pipes are one time use only. ALWAYS install a NEW high pressure fuel feed pipe if the pipe is removed OR the fittings are loosened.
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Fuel Pressure Relief
- Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield- Upper - Remove - Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement (Upper) , or Fuel Injection Fuel Rail Noise Shield Replacement (Lower)
- Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe - Remove and DISCARD - Fuel Feed Intermediate Pipe Replacement
Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connectors (1).
- Fuel Feed Pipe @ Engine - Remove and DISCARD - Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (AWD) , or Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (FWD) , or Fuel Feed Pipe Replacement (AWD/FWD, At Engine)
Remove the fuel injection fuel rail bolts (1).
- NOTE:
The EN-49248 remover remover hooks MUST be properly seated on the underside of the fuel injection fuel rail.
Install the EN-49248 remover components (1) and slowly work the fuel injection fuel rail (2) upwards in small, even increments.
- Once the fuel injection fuel rail (2) is free, remove the EN-49248 remover components (1).
Remove the fuel injection fuel rail (1).
