Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Charge Air Bypass Valve Piston/Membrane

    NOTE:

    Ensure there is no dirt or debris in the turbocharger housing valve cavity.

  1. Install Charge Air Bypass Valve Membrane (3)
  2. Install Charge Air Bypass Valve Piston (2)
  3. Install Valve Spring (1)

    NOTE:

    The charge air bypass valve piston guide pin fits inside the charge air bypass valve cover guide bore.

  4. Install Charge Air Bypass Valve Cover (2)
    5. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  5. Install Fastener (1) & Tighten the bolts until snug.
  6. Install Fastener (1) Tighten 12 N.m (106 lb in)
  7. Use GE-23738-A  Vacuum Pump to check for vacuum leak.

  8. Loosely install Hose Clamp (1) @Charge Air Bypass Valve Tube Connector (2)
  9. Install Charge Air Bypass Valve Tube Connector (2)
  10. Hose Clamp (1) @Charge Air Bypass Valve Tube Connector (2), Move into position & Tighten
  11. Install Turbocharger Wastegate Actuator - Turbocharger Assemble
  12. Install Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield.Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Installation .
