Installation Procedure

- Install the battery positive cable terminal (5), to the back of the generator and tighten the fastener (4) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).Fig 1: Battery Positive Cable, Solenoid Fastener, Protective Boot, Generator Battery Positive Cable Terminal & Fastener

CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . - Install the battery positive cable terminal (1), to the starter solenoid and tighten the fastener (2) to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Install the battery positive and negative cable retainers (1), to the transmission case.
- Install the battery negative cable terminal (2), to the transmission and tighten the fastener (3) to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Install the battery positive and negative cable retainers (1) to the battery tray.
- Install the battery negative cable terminal (2) to the frame rail stud and tighten the fastener (1) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the battery positive cable terminal (3), to the battery fuse block and tighten the fastener (2) to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Close the battery fuse block cover (1).
- Install the battery positive cable terminal (3) junction block stud and tighten the fastener (2) to 12 N.m (106 lb in).
- Install the junction block cover (1).
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
