Component Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, reconnect all harness connectors that were disconnected.
  2. Disconnect EVAP purge hoses from the EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid Valve. Start engine.
  3. With a scan tool, command the EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid Valve to 100% duty cycle and check that air can pass through the valve.
    • If air will not pass through the valve, replace the EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid Valve.
    • If air passes through.
  4. With a scan tool, command the EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid Valve to 0% duty cycle and check for no air passage through the valve.
    • If air passes though, replace the EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid Valve.
    • If no air passes through
  5. All OK.
