July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 GMC Acadia, 2013 Chevrolet Traverse, and 2013 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill)  or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac N Fill) .
  2. Remove the drive belt. Refer to DRIVE BELT REPLACEMENT .
  3. Remove the right engine strut mount. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT REPLACEMENT - RIGHT SIDE .
  4. Remove the right engine mount strut bracket. Refer to ENGINE MOUNT STRUT BRACKET REPLACEMENT - RIGHT SIDE .

  6. Use the EN 46104  tool in order to retain the water pump pulley.

  8. Remove the water pump pulley bolts.
  9. CAUTION:

    This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fastener could cause damage to the vehicle or component.

  10. Remove the water pump pulley.

  12. Remove the water pump bolts and DISCARD the bolts.
  13. Remove the water pump.
  14. Remove and DISCARD the water pump seal.
  15. Carefully clean the water pump sealing surfaces.
