Radio Scan Tool Data Parameters

Parameter System State Expected Value Definition
Operating Conditions:  Ignition ON
Antenna Module - Disabled/ Enabled This parameter informs if system uses an antenna module or not and the output status of the interface between the radio and the antenna module.
Audio Source Status User Dependent None / Tuner / CD /Front AUX / Rear AUX / DVD / XM This parameter displays the currently selected audio source.
Automatic Volume Speed Curve Setting User Dependent Off/ 1 / 2 This parameter displays the currently selected automatic volume control setting.
Auxiliary Audio Input User Dependent Not Present/ Present This parameter displays if there is an external device connected to the auxiliary audio jack(s).
Balance User Dependent L15-R15 This parameter displays the currently selected balance setting.
Base Model Part Number - Numeric This parameter displays the radio base hardware part number.
Bass User Dependent (-)12-(+)12 This parameter displays the currently selected bass setting.
Battery Voltage - Battery Voltage The scan tool displays the battery voltage available at the radio B+ terminal.
Calibration Part Number 1 - Numeric This parameter displays the radio software calibration number.
Calibration Part Number 2 - Numeric This parameter displays the radio display graphics software calibration number.
Calibration Part Number 3 - Numeric This parameter displays the navigation software calibration number.
Calibration Part Number 4 - Numeric This parameter displays the faceplate software calibration number.
Current Driver User Dependent Driver 1 / Driver 2 / drvr Unknown This parameter displays the currently selected driver (user).
Display Dimming User Dependent 1 to 100 % This parameter displays the currently selected illumination level of the infotainment display.
End Model Part Number - Numeric This parameter displays the radio base software part number.
Fader User Dependent F15-R15 This parameter displays the currently selected fader setting.
Hazard Lamp Switch Hazard button pressed Active This parameter displays whether the hazard lamp switch is pressed or released.
Hazard button released Inactive
Illumination Mode User Dependent Invalid / Day / Night / Auto This parameter displays the currently selected illumination mode of the infotainment display.
Multipath - % Indicates the Radio Signal Multipath
Parental Control User Dependent Invalid/Locked/Unlocked This parameter displays the currently selected parental control status for the rear seat entertainment system.
Phone Signal - Not Present/ Present This parameter displays if the infotainment system uses discrete phone arbitration.
Power Mode - Off/Accessory/Run/Crank Request This parameter displays the current power mode of the radio.
Radio Signal Strength - dB This parameter indicates the relative signal strength of the currently selected AM or FM station.
Radio Theft Lock Armed - Inactive/Active This parameter indicates the current theft lock status: Active (locked) or Inactive (armed and unlocked)
Radio Theft Lock Status - No VIN/Learned VIN This parameter indicates the current VIN learn status of the radio theft lock system.
Rear Seat Audio - Not Present/Present This parameter indicates if the infotainment system detects the rear seat audio module.
Treble User Dependent (-)12-(+)12 This parameter displays the currently selected treble setting.
Video Display 1 - Active/ Inactive This parameter indicates the current state of the rear video display: Active (Power On) or Inactive (Power Off).
Volume User dependent 0 to 40 This parameter displays the currently selected volume setting.
VIN Digits 10-17 - Numeric This parameter displays digits 10 through 17 of the radios learned VIN.
Radio Scan Tool Output Controls

Scan Tool Output Control Description
Antenna This function allows control to switch the radio between the main or diversity AM/FM antenna.
Audio This function allows selection of the radio output channel and then allows control of bass and treble on the selected channel.
Audio Source This function switches the radio audio source.
Automatic Volume Speed Curve This function allows selection of the radio speed control volume curve (Off, 1, or 2) and then allows control to vary the vehicle speed input.
Clear Hard Disc Drive This function clears the HDD of all customer data. This includes music files, eBooks and navigation addresses. Does not clear NAV database data.
Current Driver This function allows selection between Driver 1 and driver 2 stored user profiles.
Dimming This function allows control to Increase or Decrease the dimming level of the display and faceplate.
Eject This function allows control to eject or load a CD.
Illumination Mode This function allows selection between the display illumination modes: Day, Night, or Auto.
Info Display/Infotainment Faceplate Reset This function sends a one time command for the radio to invoke a reset of the display and faceplate.
Info Display/Infotainment Faceplate Wakeup This function sends a one time command for the radio to invoke a wakeup of the display and faceplate.
Left Front Speaker Commanding the speaker ON will generate a test tone to this speaker.
Left Rear Speaker Commanding the speaker ON will generate a test tone to this speaker.
Rear Camera This function enables or disables the rear camera.
Right Front Speaker Commanding the speaker ON will generate a test tone to this speaker.
Right Rear Speaker Commanding the speaker ON will generate a test tone to this speaker.
