Removal Procedure

- Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to FUEL INJECTOR SIGHT SHIELD REPLACEMENT
.
- Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) fresh air tube from the camshaft cover fitting (1).
- Disconnect the PCV quick disconnect (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
- Disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the mass airflow (MAF)/intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.

- Loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamp (1) at the throttle body.
- Loosen the 6 air cleaner housing cover screws (2).
- Separate the air cleaner outlet duct from the throttle body.
- Remove the air cleaner housing cover (3) (with outlet duct).
- Remove and discard the air cleaner element (4).
