Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (LS4) or Power Steering Pump Replacement (LZ4/LZE/LZ9) .
  2. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
  3. Remove the CMP sensor bolt.
  4. Remove the CMP sensor.
  5. Inspect the sensor O-ring for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.
