Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
    CAUTION: Refer to SIR Inflator Module Handling and Storage Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 .
  2. Remove the I/P storage compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  3. Remove the mounting fasteners (3) from the inflatable restraint I/P module.
  4. Disconnect and remove the electrical harness (2) at the bussed electrical center passenger side.
  5. Remove the inflatable restraint I/P module (1) from the vehicle.
  6. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
