July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the oil pan skid plate bolts and plate, if necessary.

  4. Perform the following:
    1. Remove the clip from around the engine harness and the oxygen sensor pigtail.
    2. Disconnect the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
    3. Disconnect the forward oxygen sensor electrical connector.

  6. Perform the following:
    1. Unclip the oxygen sensor electrical connector from the hose clip.
    2. Disconnect the CPA retainer.
    3. Disconnect the oxygen sensor electrical connector (1).
  7. Support the catalytic converter or exhaust manifold pipe with adjustable jackstands.

  9. Remove the left exhaust manifold pipe nuts.

  11. Remove the right exhaust manifold pipe nuts.
  12. Lower the catalytic converter or exhaust manifold pipe using the adjustable jackstands.
  13. Remove the exhaust manifold pipe seal(s).
