Alarm Module: Service and Repair

THEFT DETERRENT CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the instrument panel (IP) knee bolster.
2. Remove the ignition lock cylinder.
3. Remove the upper steering column shroud.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector at the base of the steering column.
5. Pull the PASS-Key III module from the ignition lock cylinder housing.
6. Remove the electrical connector and wires from the steering column.
7. Remove the PASS-Key III module from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the PASS-Key III module to the vehicle.
2. Install the electrical connector and wires to the column.
3. Slide the PASS-Key III module over the ignition lock cylinder housing.
4. Connect the electrical connector at the base to the steering column.
5. Install the upper column shroud.
6. Install the ignition lock cylinder.
7. Install the IP knee bolster.
8. Program the theft deterrent system. Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components. Programming and Relearning
