Installation Procedure

- Install the steering knuckle.
- Install the strut to steering knuckle retaining bolts and nuts.
- Connect the lower ball joint to the steering knuckle.NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
- Install the lower ball joint retaining nut.
Tighten
- Tighten the lower ball joint retaining nut to 10N.m (7 lb in).
- Tighten an additional 150 degrees (2 1/2 flats) plus an additional 60 degrees rotation for cotter pin alignment.
- Install a new cotter pin.
- Connect the Road Sensing Suspension position sensor link to the lower control arm.
- Connect the outer tie rod end to the steering knuckle. Refer to TIE ROD END REPLACEMENT - OUTER .
- Install the wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Wheel Bearing/Hub Replacement - Front .
- Install the tire and wheel. Refer to TIRE AND WHEEL REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Lower the vehicle.
