July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Test 8: Shock Sensor Inoperative

  1. Check CTD system operation. See CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK  under TROUBLE SHOOTING. Go to next step.
  2. Disconnect shock sensor. Connect a test light between shock sensor connector terminals "A" and "C". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If test light is on, go to next step. If test light is off, go to step  4 .
  3. Disconnect BCM connector C2. Using DVOM, measure resistance between BCM connector C2, terminal D14 and shock sensor connector terminal "B". See Figure . If resistance is less than 2 ohms, go to step  5 . If resistance is more than 2 ohms, repair open or poor connection in Light Green wire between BCM connector C2, terminal D14 and shock sensor connector terminal "B". See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  4. Connect a test light between shock sensor connector terminal "A" and ground. If test light is on, repair open or poor connection in Black wire between shock sensor connector terminal "C" and ground G200. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If test light is off, repair open or poor connection in Orange wire between shock sensor connector terminal "A" and underhood accessory wiring junction block connector C2, terminal F7.
  5. Adjust shock sensor. See CONTENT THEFT DETERRENT SHOCK SENSOR  under ADJUSTMENTS. If shock sensor sensitivity adjustment does not correct problem, replace shock sensor. See THEFT DETERRENT SHOCK SENSOR  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
