Sensing & Diagnostic Module: Removal

  1. Before proceeding, See AIR BAG SAFETY PRECAUTIONS in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Disable air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article.
  2. Remove right-front seat and carpet retainer. Roll back carpet and insulation to access Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM). Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect SDM connector. See Figure. Remove SDM mounting fasteners and SDM.
