Engine Speed

RANGE 0-9999 RPM:
Engine speed is computed by the PCM from the crankshaft position sensor. If the crankshaft position sensor is inoperative, an RPM reading is taken from the injection pump cam signal. It should remain close to the desired idle during various engine loads with engine idling. The engine speed value is very accurate.
