Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
2. Drain the cooling system below the level of the sensor.
3. Remove the harness connector from the ECT sensor by releasing the locking tab.




4. Remove the ECT sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. Install the ECT sensor into the engine.

Tighten
Tighten the ECT sensor to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).




2. Install the harness connector.
3. Refill the coolant system.

IMPORTANT: Ensure that the PCM electrical harness is properly routed to avoid contact with the engine cover during installation.




4. Install the air cleaner assembly.
