July 1: So it begins. Don't worry, this is not in the correct legal jurisdiction!

Test A: Traction Off Indicator Always On

  1. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. After performing diagnostic system check, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position, engine off. Using scan tool, check for Body Control Module (BCM) DTC(s). If DTC B2597 is set in BCM, see DTC B2597: TRACTION CONTROL SWITCH CIRCUIT  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. If DTC B2597 is not set in BCM, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, in Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) SPECIAL FUNCTIONS, attempt to turn off traction light (car icon). If traction light (car icon) turned off, go to next step. If traction light (car icon) did not turn off, go to step  5 .
  4. Replace EBTCM. See ELECTRONIC BRAKE/TRACTION CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
  5. Replace IPC. See appropriate ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS article in ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT. After repairs, perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
