Installation Procedure
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire and 2003 Chevrolet Cavalier. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Feed the sunroof drive cable through the copper drive tube.
- Install the sunroof drive tube retainer with the copper drive tube into the track end.
- Install the sunroof track and lifter arm assembly into the module frame.
- Feed the sunroof drive cable through the plastic return tube.
- Align the track parallel to each other with 666 mm between the left and right track at the front and rear of the track.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the sunroof track screws.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N.m (35 lb.in).
- Install the sunroof cable wear plate (14).
- Install the sunroof tube retainers to the motor bracket (10).
- Install the rivet to the sunroof tube retainer.
- Verify that the forward glass adjustment screw hole in the lifter arm is aligned with the small hole in the cable cam assembly. If required, push the lifter arm or the cable cam forward to align the two holes.
- Install the sunroof motor/actuator (7). Refer to SUNROOF MOTOR/ACTUATOR REPLACEMENT .
- Tie wrap the drive (6) and return tubes (5) together.
- Install the sunroof module assembly. Refer to SUNROOF MODULE ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT .
- Install the sunroof window. Refer to SUNROOF WINDOW REPLACEMENT .
- Install the sunshade panel. Refer to SUNROOF SUNSHADE PANEL REPLACEMENT .
